Just, stop.

The Warriors aren’t a lock to win it all at this point in the season.

“It’s no disrespect, but we’re not coming in every day saying we’re just thinking about Houston. We know how great they are… But we’re focusing on ourselves right now.” – Kevin Durant on not treating the Rockets as their sole threat

KD get it. – Matthew Jones

1. Golden State Warriors (30-8)

  • I didn’t get a chance to say it last week, but that Christmas Day game between the Warriors and Cavaliers was fire. And stop saying that Kevin Durant is LeBron James’ equal! – Matthew Jones

2. Boston Celtics (31-10)

  • The Celtics still own the East, as evidenced by their 102-88 victory over the Cavs this week. They continue to hold the NBA’s best defense, and if Kyrie continues to play at this rate, Boston should remain atop the East. – Joe Morris

3. Toronto Raptors (26-10)

4. Houston Rockets (27-9)

  • The Rockets are coming off a devastating five-game losing streak, and now James Harden is out for the next two weeks. This may just be rock bottom in Houston, or this could hint at what’s to come. – Joe Morris
  • This Rockets team is very good, but they need everyone healthy in order to win games. Did they win with Chris Paul out? Can they win with James Harden now being out with a hamstring strain? – Matthew Jones

5. Cleveland Cavaliers (25-13)

  • IT is back, and just in time for the Cavs to make another push at the East’s No. 1 seed before the All-Star break. In his first game of the season, Thomas put up 17 points and three assists in just 19 minutes of action. However, things aren’t all rosy in Cleveland, as the Cavs have now lost five of their last seven games. – Joe Morris

6. San Antonio Spurs (26-13)

  • Manu Ginobili hit a very, very weird shot that was supposed to be an alley-oop. NBA refs are idiots. – Matthew Jones

“Because we’re rich as hell and we don’t need it all, and other people need it. Then, you’re an ass if you don’t give it. Pretty simple.” – Gregg Popovich on charity work

7. Minnesota Timberwolves (24-15)

8. Washington Wizards (22-16)

9. Oklahoma City Thunder (21-17)

10. Milwaukee Bucks (20-16)

11. Detroit Pistons (20-16)

  • It looks as if point guard, Reggie Jackson isn’t being poorly missed on the Pistons. But that’s just been the last two weeks. They still have a month without him in the lineup due to his Grade 3 ankle sprain. – Matthew Jones

12. Miami Heat (20-17)

13. Denver Nuggets (20-17)

14. New Orleans Pelicans (19-18)

  • I can’t believe that the Pelicans are over 500 at this point in the season. I still can’t believe that Rajon Rondo had 25 assists in that one game. – Matthew Jones

15. Portland Trail Blazers (19-18)

16. Los Angeles Clippers (17-19)

17. New York Knicks (18-20)

18. Indiana Pacers (19-19)

19. Philadelphia 76ers (18-19)

20. Brooklyn Nets (15-23)

21. Utah Jazz (16-22)

22. Charlotte Hornets (14-23)

23. Phoenix Suns (15-25)

  • Tyson Chandler has been a player that the Suns have used quite nicely ever since that huge game-winner against the Grizzlies. Let’s see if they can keep it that way. – Matthew Jones

24. Dallas Mavericks (13-26)

  • The Mavs inexplicably ran off a four-game win streak, which resulted in a significant vault up the power rankings and NBA standings. Dennis Smith Jr has led the charge and in the process became the first Mavs rookie to record a triple-double since Jason Kidd in a 21-10-10 night against the Pelicans. – Joe Morris

25. Chicago Bulls (13-25)

26. Memphis Grizzlies (12-26)

  • Devin Booker has returned to the Grizzlies after his groin injury but hasn’t made a tremendous impact at all. Shocker. – Matthew Jones

27. Sacramento Kings (12-25)

28. Orlando Magic (12-27)

29. Atlanta Hawks (10-27)

30. Los Angeles Lakers (11-26)

  • More like the Loss Angeles Lakers! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. But on a more serious note, Brook Lopez made his return to the lineup, which means the Lakers will probably get off the bottom of this list by next week. – Joe Morris
